Welcome to The O.E.L.A.

The Oklahoma Employment Lawyers Association is an organization of Attorneys in the State of Oklahoma who dedicate their practices primarily to the diligent representation of Plaintiff's in cases against employers who violate state and federal law and, thus, the employee's protected rights.

OELA is a non-profit organization that has the purpose of furthering the education of those attorneys who practice employment law, specifically Plaintiff's cases. By providing a resource for each other to share, the bar is improved and the decisions which are rendered by Oklahoma state and federal Judges are more likely to be based upon briefs and arguments from attorneys who are better prepared to represent their client's interests

OELA started in 1999 as the first chapter in the State of Oklahoma to affiliate with the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA). By affiliating with NELA, the members of the organization receive discounts for joining NELA and participating in the NELA events, which include numerous CLE events and use of resource materials.

OELA meets monthly as a full group and committees perform a great deal of work during the course of the year.

Current Officers

President Mark Hammons 405-235-6100
Vice President Rand Eddy 405-239-2524
Treasurer Ray Durbin 405-521-0577
Secretary Robert Wagner 405-521-9105

Perhaps the greatest use of OELA is the sharing of legal documentation to help better prepare other attorneys for issues which had been argued by local counsel in prior proceedings. The Brief Bank, a resource database maintained by the OELA Resource Committee, provides OELA members with legal briefs, depositions, orders, and discovery results which may be used as reference in representing current clients.
