Biography: Amber Hurst is a partner at the firm of Hammons, Hurst & Associates. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma, where she graduated in 2006 as a member of the Oklahoma Law Review.
Ms. Hurst practices primarily in the area of employment law, representing private and public sector employees who have been harassed, discriminated against or wrongfully terminated from their employment. She is the 2014 Chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the current President of the Oklahoma Employment Lawyer's Association.
Ms. Hurst as been a frequent speaker on employment related topics. She has written papers and spoken before several organizations, including the OBA Labor & Employment Law Section, the Oklahoma Employment Lawyers Association, and various private organizations. Frequent topics of Ms. Hurst's presentations include the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, USERRA, and MMSEA.
Ms. Hurst is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Ms. Hurst is admitted to practice before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Oklahoma and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of Oklahoma.
